Pamperin Park
Classic • Versatile • Natural Variety
If you’re from the area, Pamperin Park is one of the most well-known and reliable photo locations in the Green Bay area. It offers a wide range of backgrounds in one easily walkable park. It is ideal for clients who want variety without leaving town and/or changing locations.
The park includes wooded trails, a shallow creek, a stone walking bridge, and lots of open grassy areas.
I find, personally, that most of my clients who book shorter sessions choose Pamperin Park due to its versatility within a short distance. You can go from the grassy sunny wooded areas to the creek and bridge within a three-minute walk.
What makes Pamperin Park special:
- Multiple background options within a short walking distance
- Balanced mix of shade and open light
Lighting note:
I’ll say it once and i’ll say it again… golden hour is my guilty pleasure but Pamperin works well as long as the sun can peek above the trees surrounding the area.
Ken Euers Nature Area
Airy • Minimal • Unique
If you haven’t heard about Ken Euers Nature Area, it has a quiet enclosed feel with tall grasses, wetlands, and subtle water views of the bay. It feels more structured than traditional parks, which gives sessions a more unique look.
I recommend taking a look at it on a map, it is arguably the most uncommon and specific layout compared to other popular locations.
What makes it special:
- Enclosed landscapes with minimal distractions
- Natural movement in grass and wind
- Soft, glowing golden hour lighting
Lighting note:
I find that any time of day can work here with how unique the Ken Euers Nature Area is, especially when the grass is tall and the bay is visible.
Fonferek’s Glen
Dramatic • Adventurous • Unique Landscape
Fonferek’s Glen is one of the most visually distinct locations near Green Bay. It features a waterfall, limestone cliffs, and a natural stone arch, creating a dramatic and romantic atmosphere.
Fonferek’s Glen is slightly more adventurous in terms of terrain, but the final session results definitely tend to favor. It is currently my favorite location as a photographer, and truly the scenery never disappoints.
What makes it special:
- Waterfall and cliffside scenery
- Natural stone textures and lovely grassy scenes
Important note:
I highly recommend wearing sandals or cute walking shoes that you are willing to remove. The Fonferek’s Glen can have dry seasons, but will also have river flow that looks beautiful in photos, you just have to be mindful of slippery rocks underneath the water.
Baird Creek Greenway
Woodsy • Intimate • Secluded Feel
Baird Creek Greenway is a quiet, forested location with winding trails, small bridges, and dense greenery. It feels tucked away and private, making it ideal for more intimate and emotional sessions. I have yet to have many sessions here.
What makes it special:
- Secluded wooded environment
- Natural framing from trees and trails
Lighting note:
The lighting CAN lack, especially in the deeper wooded areas. That is more of a me concern, but just something to note if you are looking for a more airy feel to your photos.
Styling note:
I would avoid green as your primary outfit color, as it can blend too closely with the natural surroundings and take away contrast in your images. That said, softer or muted greens can still work beautifully when used as an accent or in subtle patterns, especially when balanced with neutrals or warm tones.
Green Bay Botanical Garden
Polished • Colorful • Romantic
The Green Bay Botanical Garden is a curated space featuring seasonal flowers, structured pathways, and very intentional landscaping. It offers a more refined and elevated aesthetic compared to natural park settings, especially in terms of lush plant life and colorful (beautiful) flowering greenery.
This location is particularly popular during peak bloom seasons when the gardens are at their most vibrant (late May-June). If you are lucky enough to reserve a day that has light sprinkles, there will likely not be many crowds, and the light rain makes the gardens glow in a different way.
What makes it special:
- Seasonal floral displays
- Clean, manicured aesthetic
- Elevated, romantic atmosphere
Important note:
There is an additional entry fee required due to their regulations.
Seasonal note:
If you are looking for spring/early summer vibes, I recommend going before later-August.
Styling note:
White and light neutrals works best if you don’t want to blend in!
Choosing Your Location
If you’re unsure which location is right for you, I typically recommend thinking about the overall feeling you want your images to have.
Soft and natural: Ken Euers Nature Area or Baird Creek Greenway
Romantic and colorful: Green Bay Botanical Garden
Bold and dramatic: Fonferek’s Glen
Classic and versatile: Pamperin Park
